MAS Financial Institutions Directory

The regulator’s own public register of licensed institutions, at eservices.mas.gov.sg/fid. It is the authoritative answer to "is this provider licensed, at what tier, and for which activities" — and it is free to search, which makes taking a provider’s word for it a choice rather than a necessity.

Why it matters to a merchant

This is the check, and it takes about a minute. Search the legal entity name — not the brand — and read what the register says the institution is permitted to do. Two things regularly surface: a brand whose licensed entity has a different name, and a provider whose permissions do not include the activity they are selling. Both are worth knowing before signing rather than after.
